Facial Laser Hair Removal

With DiolazeXL

Premium Facial Laser Hair Removal for Men and Women

Face Laser Hair Removal

At Skintique Clinic in Leicester, we can treat all skin types safely.
No more razors, waxing, or creams! No more stubble, shaving rashes or irritation! Let’s not even mention the eye wateringly painful trips to a salon for waxing every month.

Lasers and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) have become more common treatments for hair removal since their introduction in the late 1990s. More and more men and women have considered laser hair removal as an option for a longer lasting management of unwanted hair.

Excess hair can be embarrassing and inconvenient for both women and men, affecting self-confidence, and daily activities like going to the gym or swimming pool. It could even stop you from being able to wear your favourite clothes or you try to hide it with make-up.

The problem keeps on coming back time after time after time.

Procedure

Laser hair removal is performed by our fully-qualified aestheticians.
They will take time to explain the procedure to you, and answer any questions before starting.

First, your aesthetician will fully cleanse the treatment area, and a cool ultrasound gel is applied.

The laser probe is applied to the skin in a series of pulses, gently treating the target area.

There is a cooling feature built into the laser, which works while the treatment is being performed.

After treatment, the ultrasound gel is cleansed away, and some soothing aloe vera is applied to minimise any discomfort.

Depending on the size and location of the area, treatment can last from a few minutes to around 20 minutes.

You can return to your normal activities immediately after treatment.

Treatment Areas

DiolazeXL can be safely used on nearly all of the areas of the body that have unwanted hair. The most commonly treated areas include: bikini, legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin and sideburns.

Laser treatment can be even be used on sensitive areas of the skin, such as the face.

Other common areas include:
Arm and underarms
Abdomen and chest
Shoulders and back
Face (including the jaw, neck, chin and above/below the lip)
Legs
Toes & Fingers
Side Effects

Your skin will feel warm for 15-30 minutes after laser treatment.

There may be redness and swelling for up to 24 hours, but this usually fades away with no further issues.

After Care

We will fully discuss aftercare with you, and make sure all of your questions have been answered.

Many of us prefer to have things written down as a reminder, so you will also receive a copy of the advice to take away with you.

Some examples include:
Avoid using make up for 24-48 hours
Use high SPF sun cream (Factor 30 and above) for 4 weeks post treatment.
Quality SPF can be purchased after treatment.
Avoid extreme sun exposure or sun beds for 3-4 weeks post treatment

No Obligation Consultation

Your first step is a no-obligation Visia consultation at Skintique Clinic with one of our skin specialists.

Meeting your Practitioner and the Consultation

Meeting your practitioner for your one-to-one consultation.

This will include:
• A full assessment your skin, concerns and desired results.
• Details about the procedure, likely outcomes and costs. After taking a full medical history and reviewing your Visia Gen8 images your practitioner will discuss the range of treatments available at Skintique Clinic for your skin concerns. Your practitioner will design a bespoke plan with you based on your expectations. You will also be provided with detailed information on the procedures, the likely outcomes and the approximate timescales. Should you then wish to go ahead with the treatments a future appointment will be made.

Treatment

On arrival for your treatment, you will be asked to check over your medical history form to confirm that nothing has changed. You will be then asked to complete a treatment consent form.

The treatment can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or more depending on the treatment.

Results Review

Many of our treatments are progressive and require a course of treatment for the optimal result. Some conditions will need maintenance treatments to maintain the final result. Your practitioner will indicate the approximate number of treatments with you at the start. But as everyone is different this can only be used as an approximate guide and not as a guarantee.

The skin cycle on a health individual who has regular treatments is approximately 6 weeks.

Next Appointment

Our team will arrange your next appointment before you leave the clinic.

Frequently asked questions

Is this treatment Suitable for me?

At Skintique Clinic, we are able to treat all skin types.
People come to us with a variety of concerns and reasons for removing unwanted hair, including:
Hair growth in embarrassing areas (i.e. face, neck, hands)
Excess hair growth associated with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Hormonal hair growth
Hair removal prior to gender reassignment procedures
Ingrown hair prevention
We always discuss your medical history during your consultation to make sure the treatment is safe for you. Some circumstances may make laser unsuitable, such as:
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
History of melanoma
Autoimmune conditions such as Lupus, Scleroderma, Vitiligo
Raised moles, suspicious lesions, keloid scar formation, healing problems, active infections, open lesions, hives, herpetic lesions, cold sores, tattoos or permanent make-up in area of treatment

How does the treatment work?

During laser treatment, a diode laser beam passes through the skin towards hair follicles. The penetrating energy then heats up the root of the hair, which in turn prevents future hair growth.

How is the treatment performed?

First, the treatment area is fully cleansed, and a cool ultrasound gel is applied. The laser probe is applied to the skin in a series of pulses, gently treating the target area. After treatment, the ultrasound gel is cleansed away, and some soothing aloe vera is applied to minimise any discomfort.

How does the treatment feel?

With each treatment, there are fewer hairs to remove, so the sensation becomes smaller and smaller over time. Some people have said the sensation resembles flicking a rubber band against the skin. Any mild discomfort you may feel resolves as soon as the laser stops being applied.

Is there any healing time?

There is no downtime, and you can return straight back to your normal activities. Your Laser therapist will go through the aftercare with you as there are some things that should be avoided on the same day as treatment.

Why do I need multiple treatments to achieve hair removal?

As with all laser hair removal methods, DiolazeXL requires a series of treatments. Laser hair removal works best when hair follicles are in their mature stage, however, at any given time, your hair is in various stages of growth.
