Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Ageing skin can take on many forms, but there are few better indications of getting older than the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Wrinkles – prominent creases and folds visible on several key areas of the face – actually begin life as fine lines, which are minor imperfections that flourish as a result of repetitive facial movements and repeated muscle contractions.
When the skin loses the collagen and elastin which contribute to its natural tautness and elasticity, wrinkles can start to emerge at a much faster rate. Their development is also aided by numerous lifestyle factors such as smoking, drinking, dehydration, diet and frequent sun exposure. Failure to follow a regular skincare routine can also be a major contributing factor to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.
