Skin Tags

Sometimes mistaken for warts, skin tags are skin-coloured growths of various sizes that are normally found in places such as the armpits, groin, neck and beneath the breasts. Despite hanging off the skin, they are seldom painful and are completely harmless.

Skin tags form when areas of skin come into close contact with each other, an action that creates friction. They are composed of both collagen and blood vessels and are more likely to occur in people who are overweight, suffer from diabetes or are pregnant.

Although at times extremely noticeable, skin tags are typically smooth and soft and may bleed if they get caught on items of clothing or other everyday accessories.
