Treatment is a safe and effective way of refreshing and rejuvenating the skin as well as treating fine lines, texture, tone and wrinkles.

At Skintique Clinic we like to assess your skin thoroughly. Your journey will have started with a Visia consultation and we will use this amazing technology to track your skin’s progress. Before going ahead with a peel you are likely to be started on a pre-peel treatment. Preparation of your skin is vital to allow desensitisation and ensure your skin peel does not damage your skin.

Most patients can undergo a peel without any side effects. The treated skin is virtually normal in appearance. On rare occasions a patient may experience mild sloughing, weeping or scabbing. Some redness is temporary and normal. Redness may be covered with makeup. If scabs are picked, scarring may occur or areas of hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation may result.

Side effects are minimal if any. Your skin may sting and look flushed or red.
Deeper peels cause crusting and peeling of the skin. This is normal and part of the peel process.

They are not suitable for irritated skin or if the skin has been laser resurface treatment within the last 6 weeks, if you are suffering from a viral infection or have used Roaccutane in the last 6 months. Roaccutane thins the skin whilst drying out the oil in the skin and makes it more likely to be damaged.

A course of skin peels will give you the best results and we have specifically designed course protocols to maximise the results whatever your skin concern.

Meeting your Practitioner and the Consultation

Meeting your practitioner for your one-to-one consultation.

This will include:
• A full assessment your skin, concerns and desired results.
• Details about the procedure, likely outcomes and costs. After taking a full medical history and reviewing your Visia Gen8 images your practitioner will discuss the range of treatments available at Skintique Clinic for your skin concerns. Your practitioner will design a bespoke plan with you based on your expectations. You will also be provided with detailed information on the procedures, the likely outcomes and the approximate timescales. Should you then wish to go ahead with the treatments a future appointment will be made.

Treatment

On arrival for your treatment, you will be asked to check over your medical history form to confirm that nothing has changed. You will be then asked to complete a treatment consent form.

The treatment can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or more depending on the treatment.

Results Review

Many of our treatments are progressive and require a course of treatment for the optimal result. Some conditions will need maintenance treatments to maintain the final result. Your practitioner will indicate the approximate number of treatments with you at the start. But as everyone is different this can only be used as an approximate guide and not as a guarantee.

The skin cycle on a health individual who has regular treatments is approximately 6 weeks.
