Warts & Verrucae
Warts are small skin growths that develop as a result of the human papilloma virus (HPV). Often coarse or rough in texture, they commonly take up residence on the hands, knees and hands, with those located on the soles of the feet known as verrucae. In terms of appearance, they can be grey, brown, yellow or fleshy in colour and may be itchy or uncomfortable, depending on their location.
Oftentimes, warts disappear by themselves but not before playing havoc with the confidence of those affected. They do not pose any harm to physical health but may crack and bleed on occasion.
