After Care
We will fully discuss aftercare with you, and make sure all of your questions have been answered. Many of us prefer to have things written down as a reminder, so you will also receive a copy of the advice to take away with you. Some examples include:
Post treatment it is best to keep the treated area dry for 24-48 hours
Immediately after the treatment the skin may feel hot or a little stingy, with swelling which will begin to manifest itself.
An ice cube in a rubber glove, covered with a dry cloth or tissue will ease the sensation
Sleeping whilst elevated should help with any access swelling, this will alleviate throughout the day once you are upright
Swelling could last for 2-5 days on average
There may be a small crust which may last from 4-8 days, DO NOT exfoliate or pick these crusts, let them come off naturally. New ‘baby pink skin’ will appear under where the crusts were.
Slight redness can last up to 8 days in some cases
If the treated area gets wet in the first 24-48 hours ‘pat dry’ with a clean towel
Do not use a sauna or steam room until the crusts have come off naturally
Do not undertake rigorous sweaty exercise for 24-48 hours after the treatment
Please take regular daily photographs of your progress/healing
Please use a mineral based makeup after 48 hours if you need to cover the crusts
Please consult your practitioner regarding your moisturiser.
