Mid-Face Volume Loss
The ‘mid-face’ is defined as the area under the eyes and above the mouth. It is an area that is made up of different fat compartments which play a huge part in determining the overall shape, structure and appearance of the face. Unfortunately, ageing causes the fat compartments found on the mid-face to wither, become smaller and sag due to gravity. As they play such an important structural role in determining your facial topography, the loss of fat in these areas can create the effect of a ‘falling face.’
If this happens, any smile lines found on the face will likely become deeper and more pronounced, cheeks may fall closer towards the mouth and the composition and complexion of the skin can change
