Do you suffer from Acne, Rosacea, Pigmentation, or Ageing? Or do you just want to get more from topical products? Well… have you heard of the Plasma Shower? The plasma shower is a perfect treatment to target all of the above and what’s better? It only takes 15 minutes!!
So…what is the ‘Plasma Shower’?
The Plasma Shower is a unique treatment that uses advanced Plasma Technology. When applying the Plasma energy at high or low atmospheric pressure we are able to target a number of different skin concerns very effectively. Essentially… It is a shower of ionised gas that creates electrical energy and works from the surface, epidermis, and deep into the dermis. It affects the skin positively to aid regeneration and repair; as well as sterilising the skin, having an anti-pigment effect by suppressing overactive melanin production, increases the skin’s elasticity, and aids the absorption of medical-grade products when applied to the skin.
Does it hurt?
No, it is a completely painless (and rather relaxing) treatment. It feels slightly warming to the skin, but never uncomfortable. If during the treatment, we are working over any lesions such as active acne, it can feel a little warmer than other areas. However, due to the short time, the treatment takes, any discomfort is over very quickly.
Is there any down-time?
Immediately after the treatment, the skin may be slightly red; this is normal and will pass within the next 24-48 hours, sooner in most cases. It is important not to touch the skin or apply anything further to the skin for the next 6-8 hours while the skin recovers. We also recommend no gym or exercise, showers, or make-up for 24 hours post-treatment. We always recommend using broad-spectrum SPF 40 plus daily and AlumierMD skincare to enhance and maintain healthy and glowing skin.
How many treatments will I require?
Well, everyone and every concern is different which means the frequency of sessions will vary from person to person. Generally speaking, we recommend a bi-weekly visit for acne and pigmentation treatments and monthly sessions for skin rejuvenation.
When will I start seeing results?
It is hard to say as this will vary from person to person depending on the skin concern. In my case, suffering from breakouts, I had a course of 12 treatments bi-weekly and started noticing significant results after the third or fourth treatment. Immediately after the treatments, my skin was a little red, this settled for me within a couple of hours. The next day, my skin had returned to normal, albeit felt a little bit tight. Then after my third treatment, I had noticed that my breakouts had almost halved in size and I hadn’t had any new breakouts come up and my skin continued to improve over the next few treatments.
Is there any reason why I can’t have this treatment?
There are very limited reasons as to why you would be unable to have a plasma shower treatment as the treatment is perfectly safe to have even when on medications such as antibiotics, Ro-Accutane and Isotretinoin. The only reason you would be restricted from having the plasma shower would be during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
